TNS Payments: Motion Graphics That Worked Without Sound

A brand led TNS Payments explainer using script, icons and motion graphics to communicate clearly with sound on or off.

The Challenge

Explaining a complex payment workflow with or without sound

TNS Payments Division needed a global online marketing film that made a complex business workflow easy to understand through animation and motion graphics.

The explanation also had to work with sound on or off, placing extra responsibility on the script, icons and visual progression.

The Solution

A focused script and brand led visual system

We identified the key messages with TNS, drafted the voiceover script and designed the animation assets from the company’s brand guidelines.

Existing icons were modernised within a clear motion graphics sequence. TNS later requested several localised language versions for audiences in Asia.

A motion graphics explainer for a complex payment story

TNS Payments Division needed a global online marketing film that could make a complex business workflow clear. Animation and motion graphics gave the production a visual route through the subject.

The brief demanded disciplined communication. Every stage had to help a viewer understand the core messages without allowing the detail of the payments operation to overwhelm the story. As an online film for an international business, it also needed a visual system that could travel beyond one presentation or meeting.

Designed to work with or without sound

The film needed to remain understandable in both audio on and audio off viewing. That requirement placed extra responsibility on the script structure, icons, on screen progression and movement.

Key information had to be legible through the visuals while the voiceover added another layer of explanation. The silent viewing requirement shaped the project from the start and became one of its strongest practical features.

Key messages shaped the voiceover script

Working with TNS, we identified the information the audience needed and drafted the voiceover script around those key messages. This created the narrative framework for the film.

The script established the order of the explanation and the relationship between spoken detail and visible action. It gave the animation team a clear sequence to design, review and refine.

Icons and assets grew from the TNS brand

We designed the visual assets from TNS’s brand guidelines. Existing icons and designs were modernised while retaining a recognisable relationship with the established identity.

That approach gave the film its own animated language and kept it connected with the company’s wider communications. The magnifying glass, data and building imagery visible in the finished film are examples of this clear, graphic treatment.

Animation carried the explanation

Once the script and visual system were aligned, motion could guide the viewer from one part of the payment story to the next. The film used progression, scale and simple visual relationships to support comprehension.

The completed motion graphics explainer remains publicly available on TNS’s YouTube channel. It provides a direct record of the branded animation and its silent friendly visual structure.

Requested for localisation in Asia

The original version created demand for further use. TNS requested several localised language versions for audiences in Asia, showing that the core script and animation system could support adaptation.

The project progressed into a wider localisation conversation for additional markets. The global explainer was strong enough to begin a wider conversation about localisation for additional markets.
