Connecting a festival stage with an indoor studio
Tramlines and The Common Room commissioned us to provide live OB and studio production for the Heineken Stage in 2012.
The programme had to carry live performance footage into The Common Room while creating space for studio interviews, vox pops and other audiovisual material.
One continuous programme across stage and studio
We linked the stage feed with the indoor studio, giving audiences at The Common Room access to the live performances and produced contributions.
Studio interviews, vox pops and prepared media were integrated across the daily schedule. No external stream destination or audience total is claimed.

Tramlines and The Common Room commissioned us to provide live outside broadcast and studio production for the Heineken Stage in 2012.
The brief connected two distinct spaces: the live performance area and a studio inside The Common Room. The production had to make both part of one continuous festival programme.
The Heineken Stage fed The Common Room
We designed the workflow so people inside The Common Room could watch live footage from the Heineken Stage. The stage feed carried the performances into the indoor venue and formed the main live strand of the programme.
This link gave the festival coverage an immediate purpose within the site. The Common Room became a place where audiences could follow the stage and experience additional produced content around it.
Studio interviews added another layer
The indoor studio gave performers and festival voices a place to join the programme through interviews. These contributions extended the coverage beyond the stage and created material shaped specifically for the broadcast.
Moving between performance footage and conversation gave the programme variety. It also allowed the audience to encounter the people around the event as well as the music taking place outside.
Vox pops and audiovisual inserts
Vox pops brought short audience and festival perspectives into the schedule. Other audiovisual material could also be played into the programme alongside the stage and studio sources.
These elements gave the production team useful ways to shape the flow between live moments. Each contribution had its own role within the continuous output, from full performances to short reactions and prepared inserts.
One programme built from two production spaces
The completed workflow combined stage coverage, studio interviews, vox pops and other media across each day’s broadcast schedule. Our outside broadcast production connected the live venue and indoor studio as one editorial system.
That structure let the programme move between planned conversation, live performance and shorter location material while maintaining continuity. We produced the live programme from The Common Room.
