The Co operative: performance review training films

The Challenge

Bringing workplace conversations to life

The Co operative’s Effective Performance Reviews learning package used drama to explore management skills and workplace conversations.

We worked with Kineo on the filming, bringing five actors into an office setting at Electric Works in Sheffield.

The Solution

Two days of filmed learning scenarios

We filmed on 9 and 10 March 2011, using different camera angles to build the conversations into training scenes. Colleagues from Kineo also appeared as extras.

Jay Rozanski produced the shoot. Jeremy Rodway directed and operated the camera, while Emma Bardill supported production, boom sound and autocue. The footage then moved into editing and mastering.

Performance review training videos

A recognisable setting and a defined learning subject gave the scenes a clear purpose. The conversations were designed around situations managers encounter in their own roles.

Our British Airways learning drama is another example of filmed performance within a learning programme. Explore the planning and delivery stages in our video production service.
