The Orange Table: Panel Production for Westfield Health
The Challenge

Turning workplace wellbeing expertise into a useful video series

Westfield Health created The Orange Table to help employers connect health and wellbeing with productivity, organisational culture, evaluation and return on investment. The discussion needed to feel accessible while carrying credible detail for HR professionals and business leaders.

One filming day had to generate substantial long form learning and a bank of focused social content. The custom set, multi camera coverage, sound and live gallery all needed to support four panellists while keeping their conversation flowing.

The Solution

A branded set and shot as live multi camera workflow

We built a custom Orange Table set at Westfield House and recorded the discussion through an ATEM gallery. The camera plan specified five positions, while four isolated recordings and the mixed programme feed were retained for post production.

The team refined the material into three programmes covering productivity, culture and evaluation, then produced 19 social edits with captioned variants. Westfield Health approved the completed series and used the content across its public resource and a CPD accredited course.

3 PROGRAMMES
19 SOCIAL EDITS
69 MINUTES OF LONG FORM CONTENT

A workplace wellbeing series with practical purpose

Westfield Health created The Orange Table as a free educational series for employers. The opening conversations connected employee health and wellbeing with productivity, organisational culture, evaluation and return on investment, giving HR professionals and business leaders practical ideas they could take back into their organisations.

The panel brought together Westfield Health CEO David Capper, Director of HR and Employee Wellbeing Donna Griffiths, Benchmark Recruit Managing Director Louisa Harrison Walker and Sheffield Hallam University’s Dr Anouska Carter. The production needed to make their discussion feel open and conversational while capturing enough structured material for long form learning and focused social content.

A custom set built around the Westfield Health brand

We designed the visual environment around a purpose built orange table and branded background at Westfield House in Sheffield. The set gave the series an immediate identity and created a clear focal point for four contributors seated in conversation.

The filming day began with a 06:30 crew call on 11 March 2019. Rigging, technical checks, rehearsal, programme recording and derig all took place within the same day, with turnover scheduled for 13:00 and departure for 15:30. Careful pre production kept set construction, lighting, sound, camera positions and contributor preparation connected to that compact timetable.

A specialist crew for the panel production

Jay Rozanski directed and produced the filming. Paul Davies served as Director of Photography, Nathan Greenwood Hoyle and Ryan Davies operated cameras, Simon Taylor handled technical support and sound, and Jenny Alsina managed the project. The defined roles gave the panel a coordinated team across creative direction, images, audio, gallery engineering and schedule.

The production also planned for the practical risks around the set and technical build. Cable routes, power, equipment movement and gallery resilience were considered before contributors arrived. The technical plan included UPS protection for the control system, adding a resilience measure around the programme recording.

Shot as live coverage with protected camera feeds

The camera plan specified five positions around the panel, supported by an ATEM production gallery, five radio microphones, LED lighting and timecode locked external recording. Four isolated camera recordings and the mixed TX feed were retained for post production, combining the momentum of a live cut with access to individual angles.

This multi camera video production kept the discussion moving naturally. The gallery followed the exchange as it happened, while the separate recordings gave the edit room to refine a contribution, adjust timing or choose a stronger reaction shot. Recorded audio, graphics and caption workflows then carried the visual package into the completed programmes.

Three programmes and nineteen social edits

The long form delivery became three focused programmes: Productivity at 24 minutes 58 seconds, Culture at 24 minutes 56 seconds and Evaluation at 19 minutes 5 seconds. Together they provided approximately 69 minutes of completed discussion around the relationship between wellbeing and organisational performance.

We also produced 19 final social edits: six drawn from Productivity, five from Culture, six from Evaluation and two additional named extracts. Caption files and hard subtitled versions made the short pieces practical for social viewing. This multi format delivery gave Westfield Health a core set of substantial films and a broader bank of concise answers for promotion and audience engagement.

Approved content with an enduring learning role

Westfield Health approved the set direction before filming and signed off the finished content in April 2019. All three programmes remain embedded on the organisation’s Orange Table page, giving the work a continuing public destination beyond its original campaign schedule.

The educational plan also developed into a free 60 minute CPD accredited course worth one CPD hour. That use connects the production directly to professional learning: a single panel day became a structured video series, a substantial set of social extracts and material that continues to help employers explore workplace culture and wellbeing.
